How do we get from Cape Town to Franschhoek?
Once we have received everyone’s arrival information, we will organise transportation from selected pick-up locations in and around Cape Town to Franschhoek. The exact meeting points, departure times and further details will be shared closer to the wedding.


How long does my passport need to be valid?
We strongly recommend travelling with a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond your arrival date in South Africa. Please also ensure that your passport has at least two blank pages.


Do I need a visa to travel to South Africa?
Visa requirements depend on your nationality and the length of your stay. German passport holders can generally enter South Africa without a visa for a short tourist visit. Guests travelling with other passports should check the applicable requirements with the South African authorities or their local embassy well in advance.


Do children need their own travel documents?
Yes. Children must travel with their own valid passport. Additional documentation may be required when a child is travelling with only one parent, without either parent or with a guardian. Families should check the latest official requirements before travelling.


Will transportation be provided between the accommodation and wedding venues?
Transportation details for the wedding events will be communicated closer to the date. Please let us know where you are staying so that we can consider your location when coordinating the transport arrangements.


Can we pay by card?
Credit and debit cards are widely accepted at hotels, restaurants, wineries and shops. It is still helpful to carry a small amount of cash for tips, markets and smaller purchases.


What type of power adapter do we need?
South Africa uses different plug types from most European countries. We recommend bringing a universal travel adapter suitable for South Africa.


Is Franschhoek in a malaria area?
Franschhoek and Cape Town are not generally considered malaria-risk destinations. Different advice may apply if you are combining the wedding with a safari or travelling to another region of Southern Africa.
